Essential Information

Care Clotrimazole 1% w/w Cream. For the treatment of skin infections due to dermatophytes (e.g. trycophyton species), yeasts (e.g. candida species), moulds and other fungi. These include ringworm (tinea) infections, paronychia, pityriasis versicolor, erythrasma and intertrigo, as well as fungal nappy rash, candidal vulvitis and candidal balanitis. Contains Clotrimazole. Always read the label.

Directions for use

Dosage:

Adult, children and elderly:

Apply to the affected area two or three times daily

Dermatophyte infections: treat for at least one month

Candida infections: treat for at least two weeks

Route of administration:

Directly applied to the affected area.

A physician should be consulted if symptoms do not improve within 7 days.

 

NOTE: Clotrimazole Cream may cause damage to latex contraceptives. It is advised to use alternative precautions for at least five days after using this product.

 

 

Self Care Advice

Things to ease discomfort and prevent thrush returning:

  • Use water and emollient instead of soap to wash the genitals, including partners if needed
  • Dry the affected area properly after washing
  • Wear cotton underwear
  • Avoid sex until thrush has cleared up
  • Use a condom to help stop it spreading
  • Take showers instead of baths

Who can use this product:

It can be used by adults, the elderly and children. Only to be used during pregnancy when advised by a doctor. Medicines can affect the unborn baby. Do not use if sensitive to any of the ingredients in this cream.
