Care Kaolin & Morphine Mixture

Relieves the symptoms of diarrhoea and upset stomachs

Contains kaolin to help absorb toxic substances from the digestive system and increase the bulk of solid waste. It also contains sodium hydrogen carbonate which neutralizes excess stomach acid and morphine which calms the gut.

Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years can all use the mixture, but it should not be given to children under 12 years old. Do not take with alcoholic or hot drinks.

Essential Information

Care Kaolin & Morphine Mixture. For relief of the symptoms of diarrhoea and upset stomachs. Contains Kaolin Light, Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate and Morphine Hydrochloride. Always read the label.

Directions for use

Oral use.

Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years: 2 x 5ml spoonfuls.

Directions for use: Shake the bottle

Dosage schedule

Repeat up to three times a day if required.

Self Care Advice

How to treat diarrhoea:

  • You can usually treat yourself or your child at home. The most important thing is to have lots of fluids to avoid dehydration.
  • Stay at home and get plenty of rest
  • Drink lots of fluids, such as water or squash – take small sips if you feel sick
  • Eat when you feel able to – you don’t need to eat or avoid any specific foods
  • Take paracetamol if you’re in discomfort – check the leaflet before giving it to your child

Don’t:

  • Drink fruit juice or fizzy drinks – they can make diarrhoea worse
  • Make baby formula weaker – use it at its usual strength
  • Do not give children under 12 medicine to stop diarrhoea
  • Do not give aspirin to children under 16
