Directions for use

Recommended Doses

Adults, the elderly and children over 1 year: tilt the head sideways with the affected ear uppermost. Place 3 to 4 drops into the ear using the dropper provided.

Children under 5 years should receive medical diagnosis and supervision.

Avoid touching the ear with the dropper.

NEVER insert the dropper or any solid object into the ear. Allow a few minutes for the drops to reach the eardrum by keeping the head tilted, then use a tissue to wipe away any surplus product that runs from the ear.

Dosage Schedule

Use the drops twice a day for up to seven days. Store the dropper in the bottle.

The doctor, nurse or specialist may give you other specific instructions for using the drops depending on the severity of your ear wax problem. You should follow the instructions given to ensure successful removal of wax.

See the product label for more information.

If in doubt, always talk to a healthcare professional.

Self Care Advice

Earwax usually falls out on its own. If it doesn’t and blocks the ear, it is advised to put 2 to 3 drops of olive or almond oil in the ear twice a day for a few days.

FAQs

Can you remove the wax?

It is advised not to use your fingers or any objects like cotton buds to remove earwax. This will push it in and make it worse. Care Extra Virgin Olive Oil Eardrops will help to soften and remove earwax.

How long will it take to unblock?

Over 2 weeks lumps of earwax should fall out of the ear, especially at night while lying down.

Can a GP remove the earwax?

Not all GP practices remove earwax. Some can flush the wax out with water (ear irrigation) or suck the wax out (microsuction). These treatments are usually painless. You may have to pay to have them treated privately.
